Dear Potential Counselor:
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Summer Counselor with Grace Adventures Day Camp. We are so excited about experiencing our first summer in 2008. We’re looking for counselors who desire to invest in kids’ lives by showing the love of Jesus Christ through sport & play activities.
Because we strive for excellence in everything we do, allow me to describe the application process for you so there are no surprises. First, we ask for you fill out the application as thoroughly as possible, attach a current photo, and return it to us via email, graceadventures@gcconline.org or by mail to 8200 Old Columbia Rd, Fulton, MD 21073.
Next, you will need to attend an interview session. We have two dates available, March 1 & 22 from 10 -12 pm at Grace Community Church. You’ll need to let us know which session you will be attending. For those of you who go to school out of state and will not be in town on either of those dates will need to let us know that so we can set up a phone interview.
After the interview sessions, we will check references for those people we feel would be a good fit on our staff. Once we offer you a position at Grace Adventures Day Camp, we will do a final background check. Assuming that checks out, then we will gladly welcome you to our team.
So now that you know the process, here are some other things you might want to know. Counselors are required to work all four weeks of camp, from July 7 – August 1, and attend Staff Training from June 30 – July 3. We start pay at $300 a week. Counselors work one of two shifts, 7-4:30 or 8-5:30. Staff Training is unpaid, however you will be trained in CPR/First Aid, and fed throughout the week. During camp weeks, Counselors are expected to bring their lunches. Grace Community Church is a peanut free zone…sorry no pb&j.
